Qualifications are only one piece of the jigsaw when it comes to job hunting. Every day, qualified applicants are turned down by recruitment pipelines! Making your CV stand out among the many other documents received is the key to catching the attention of the hiring manager.<\/p>\n<p>You might be able to answer some of these questions by checking your application, your qualifications, and the job ad. More significantly, you might be able to tweak your application procedure in the future to get an interview. Not only should you remember these things while creating a resume, but here are some mistakes most people make while making a resume which are:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_Skills_Do_not_Match_the_Job\"><\/span>Your Skills Do not Match the Job<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>We know that when we create a CV skills section is a mandatory section in your CV or resume, and these skills will help you to get a job. Most of the time, people put in skills even if they don\u2019t have any knowledge about that skill. In this situation, you might get a call for an interview, but there is are high chance you will be rejected. But sometimes people apply for a job that doesn\u2019t even fall in the skill section. It is the main reason why you don\u2019t get a call for an interview.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Job_Credentials_are_Lacking\"><\/span>Job Credentials are Lacking<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Your knowledge and talents don&#8217;t match the skills needed to succeed in the position, or you haven&#8217;t demonstrated how you&#8217;ve used the requisite skills. Make the effort to match your qualifications to the job criteria. Before applying for a job, be sure you meet at least the majority of the employment criteria. Whenever we go through our CV, we don\u2019t catch any type of grammar mistake, even in the CV, there are not any type of sentences we write, so we can find some mistakes. But that is wrong, in CV, we also make grammar mistakes, it could be in our intro section, skill section, certificate section, or any other section. While it is not required to be one page, it should be no more than 1-2 pages for job searchers in their first 8-10 years of employment. It&#8217;s an issue if you&#8217;ve just been working for a few years and have a three-page r\u00e9sum\u00e9. Your CV is essentially a highlight reel and a sales presentation to the employer, demonstrating how you can assist them in obtaining their desired position. It isn&#8217;t a comprehensive list of everything you&#8217;ve ever done, at least not if you want to land interviews.<\/p>\n<p>You may fill the void by enrolling in a LinkedIn learning course and demonstrating to potential employers that you&#8217;ve been remaining active even while you&#8217;re not working. On Upwork, for example, you might conduct consulting or freelance work. You can undertake one or more of these activities, but make sure you handle your job gap in some way so that you don&#8217;t miss out on interview opportunities.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Instead_of_Utilizing_a_Chronological_Resume_Structure_Youve_Chosen_to_Use_a_Functional_Resume_Format\"><\/span>Instead of Utilizing a Chronological Resume Structure, You&#8217;ve Chosen to Use a Functional Resume Format<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Anyone who has followed this site for a long time knows that I am not a fan of the functional resume, which divides your work history into functions or areas of work rather than job titles and dates. Here&#8217;s the issue: Recruiters and hiring managers are interested in knowing WHERE and WHEN you completed each <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Assignment\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">assignment<\/a> included in your work history section.<\/p>\n<p>If people can&#8217;t see when you did it, they won&#8217;t value it as much. With a functional CV, none of your experience will matter as much. And this may cost you interviews. It might be the primary reason you aren&#8217;t being invited in for an interview.
